HEALTH

We conduct annual health screenings for the villagers, which includes doctor’s consultations and the provision of free medication. We also have a referral system to ensure that villagers with more severe medical conditions can receive the timely and necessary treatment they need at local city hospitals and clinics. In 2024, we are working towards incorporating physiotherapy into our health screening to cater to the needs of our villagers.

Education

Our health education efforts are tailored to the needs and medical profiles of the different groups of villagers that we reach out to. We aim to leverage education as a tool to enact lasting and sustainable change that addresses the root causes of medical problems in the community. In 2024, we taught the teachers of Srae Ou Primary School emergency rescue techniques. We also conducted opportunistic education for the villagers during our door-to-door surveys.

Research and Development

In recent years, we have been stepping up on initiatives to analyse the health trends in the villages and measure the impact of our project on the local community. We also explore more sustainable ways to improve the health of the villagers we serve holistically: for example, as water-borne illnesses continue to be rampant in these villages, we work towards correcting their misconceptions and improving their access to clean, potable water.
